Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) conference
On May 2023, the annual conference of the Canadian Society of Civil Engineering was held in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. One of my last research which was extracted from the course project “Big Data Analytics for Smart City Infrastructure” attracted me to conduct more research into energy consumption and sustainability of buildings.
The actual benefits of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification were investigated by extracting data from 28,000 buildings in New York City. Through the development of machine learning models such as MLR, SVR, and RFR, the performance of this certification in reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions is discussed. The outcome of this project was disseminated in CSCE, 2023.
